  1. I like how your flyer gives a little hint at what the Professional Learning Communities will be looking at for resources. My district offers half day plannings also and they are required. Teachers are usually told where to go and what to attend. Is this going to be optional or required for all exploratory teachers?

  2. I think you've done a great job approaching this from an angle of eliminating isolation, striving to work as a team, planning together, learning how to engage your students, and harnessing their creativity. I also think you approached this well by encouraging staff to bring their talent(s) to the table.

I can empathize with this scenario. There used to be eight teachers on the Specialist team (that’s what we’re called here). Now that number has grown to 10. Like you mention in your thinglink, the barriers are time, isolation, and differences in views. I’m guilty of these things sometimes because I need to get work done and don’t feel like I can when I attend our common planning time (which we have at least).

Overall, I think your prototype is inspirational. I think the main thing is to find common ground, and agree on a few important aspects that you want to work on in unity. If you all can find a common thread among the subjects that would be fantastic. It’s no easy task you’ve taken on, but I think you’re on a good track.
